Although the finer points of the arrangement are still to be agreed, we are pleased to announce that VATIC Manager Mark "Crossy" Cross has agreed to shoutcast the Counter Strike: Source Final at the upcoming i40 LAN event later this month.
Crossy's shoutcasting career began in 2007 as a part of Infused Gaming Radio. Initially taken on as a DJ to help launch the new station, he had already spent over 2 years playing competitive Counter Strike: Source, often propping up the bottom of the scoreboard. With no prior experience and only a few days to prepare, Crossy jumped in to shoutcast an Enemy Down CSSL game, receiving largely positive feedback for his work. Since then he has been working on-and-off with a number of Competitions and Organisations, and was at one point being hailed as one of the best CSS Shoutcasters in the UK.
Crossy currently represents Level Up TV, whose high quality video and audio streaming have been growing in popularity in both Quake Live and Team Fortress 2. The hunt is now on to find a Commentator to partner Crossy on the main stage, with respected eSports journalist Richard "DrGonzo" Lewis a likely candidate. VATIC Gaming will continue to post updates as more information becomes available.
The CSS Grand Final is expected once again to attract several thousand viewers from live at the event, and across Europe, presenting a great opportunity for some of the greatest players on the Continent to showcase their skills...and a hostile environment for a poor unprepared Shoutcaster to screw up. For those of you unable to attend, the action will be broadcast Live and On Demand on the Fileplay website.
heh, look forward to that :D
nice crossy!!!
