After a busy end to the summer, and a fast pased start to Autumn, we've had the chance once again to review another fantastic cloth gaming surface. This time we take an indepth look at the SteelSeries QcK Gaming Mouse Pad.

We've previously looked at the Razer Goliathus, which was infact one of my favourite surfaces to use during the summer. After an impressive performance the Goliathus will certainly be a hard surface to beat. Once you've read the review, as usual leave a comment and you will have a chance to win one of these fantastic surfaces!

Tech Spec

  • Specially designed non-slip rubber base
  • Dimensions: 320mm x 270mm x 2mm

This surface is incredibly durable, the first thing you notice from removing it from its packaging is the high quality finish on the cloth. As usual it's extremely important that cloth pads are of a high standard and not prone the fraying around the edges.

Over time, we have seen cloth pads becoming first choice for gaming enthusiasts across the globe. Finding the right combination of surface and mouse is a critical choice for any seasoned gamer. The QcK has a slightly rubbery texture on the underside to obviously prevent the pad from slipping all over your desk. The fibres are closely woven which gives a very smooth upper surface. In many ways the QcK is very similar to the Roccat Taito with its non slip surface and smooth upper side. This pad is most definately optimised for low sensitivty mice.

The surface isnt too large and bosts a big enough area for low sensitivity gamers. At only 2mm thick, you may think that this is very thin mousepad, however due to the quality of the cloth it feels much thicker than it is. Price as usual with cloth pads is good, you can pick these things up for less than a tenner from any good online store such as overclockers.

Again, i gave it the famous washing machine test and it came out the other side just fine which is a major bonus if you're accident prone around your desk.

Overall i still much prefer both the Goliathus and the Taito to this surface but that doesn't mean this isnt a very efficient and high performance surface.

Great texture for controlled precise aim, Very thin but still maintaining durability and can be rolled up for transport thus saving room in your bag and certainly can compete against higher priced hard mouse mats!. Would certainly purchase If i didnt already have the Razer exact mat which unfortunally is like a brick to move about! Fantastic product. Steelseries never seems to let us down!

Really awsome feel to it, its smooth and soft for the palm, can easily be folded for moving about etc. Ive had 1 for ages about a year now and its durability is great. Matching it up with the price id say its of good quality and id deffinatly recommend it.
